Amalthea's Grove (Set)

This sterling silver set, "Amalthea's Grove" is based off of a childhood favorite story, "The Last Unicorn" by Peter S. Beagle. By using the sterling casted forms of natural materials such as redwood twigs, nettle leaves, and a combination of amethyst and clear quartz stones. This set of pieces embodies the nostalgia that makes up the majority of my work.

The core of this set, the festoon style necklace, depicts the unicorn Amalthea behind a quartz window. Surrounded by dilapidated cathedral windows formed with natural redwood twigs and hanging from a twisted twig bar, she represents a timeless creature in an aging world, inspired by the moment she realized that she had been transformed into a human woman.
